The Jura region enjoys a quite severe continental climate, with very cold winters and hot summers. The zone covered by vineyards lies between 250 and 500 metres of altitude. The most utilized vines are those typical of the not far away Burgundy (Chardonnay and black Pinot) and other less known local vines such as the Poulsard and Savagnin.
