The development of wine growing in this small region has brought, in the most recent past, to a qualification of the produced wines, even though the quantities are definetely limited (less than 1% of the national production). The path taken has brought to the acknowledgement of 3 regional DOC: Bifemo, in province of Campobasso; Pentro, in province of Isernia; and Molise, produced throughout the region.
The grapevines mainly cultivated are Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Aglianico for the red grapes, and Trebbiano, Bombino and Malvasia for the white grapes.
