Even though Slovenia has an ancient wine growing tradition, its production has only recently crossed the national borders, and an ulterior impulse followed to Slovenia’s entrance in the European Union. The total area cultivated with vine is approximately as large as the region of Bordeaux, but only produces half of the wine produced in the French region.
