In this small region the wine production is equally divided among white and red wines. In the province of Terni the most famous wine is certainly the Orvieto bianco, the “wine of Popes” famous since the Middle Ages. It was originally born as a sweet wine, and today it is produced with both the characteristics of a sweet wine and of a dry wine. From the province of Perugia, instead, come the two most prestigious red wines of Umbria (both DOCG): Torgiano Rosso and Sagrantino di Montefalco.... Keep reading
