The area of greatest oenologic interest is certainly California, that covers by itself over the 80% of the total wine production of the United States. Other interesting wine growing zones are located in Oregon and in the States of New York and Washington. In California, the zone that enjoys the major prestige is Napa Valley, inside the northern coast, and owns its name to the river that flows through it.
